The official trailer of Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 was released on October 16 and it created a great deal of buzz among fans because of its stylish presentation. The film is a part of the Yash Raj Films Spy Universe. The action-thriller is a follow-up to Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), War (2019) and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan (2023).

Given the box office performance of the previous installments of the Tiger saga, the action-thriller is expected to open well in the Hindi belt. The biggie, may, however, not do as well as expected in Tamil Nadu.  Its opening day figure is expected to be lower than that of Pathaan, according to tracker Manobala Vijayabalan.

“Pathaan grossed Rs 3.71 crore in Tamil Nadu on the opening day. The chances of Tiger 3 opening better are difficult right now,” he told Roktim Rajpal.com

He feels this can be attributed to Shah Rukh Khan’s star power and the fact that Tiger 3 is not being promoted too aggressively in the South.

It remains to be seen whether the situation changes in the days to come.

Tiger 3 is directed by Maneesh Sharma and features Salman Khan as the titular character. Its cast includes Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi. Shah Rukh Khan will make a cameo as Pathaan. Tiger 3 is set to open in theatres on November 12.

This will be Bhai’s first release after Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which opened in theatres earlier this year and underperformed at the box office. The action-comedy was a remake of Ajith Kumar’s Veeram (2014). Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan starred Pooja Hegde, the star of films such as Aravinda Sameta (2018) and Radhe Shyam (2022), as the leading lady and marked her first collaboration with the mass hero. Venkatesh, Jagapati Babu, Shehnaaz Gill, Raghav Juyal, Satish Kaushik, and Palak Tiwari too were part of the cast.
